Light Me Up
I got a new tattoo this week! Of course, I would pick nothing other than this zen octopus to represent my calm and mysterious spirit. For all of you who are curious if it hurt or not, it was pretty painless to be honest. I’ll tell you my little secret, Photoshop. 😉
Did I get ya? You know what they say – You wouldn’t put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari, so you can breath easy Mom and Dad. 😛

This week I was interested in exploring and practicing dramatic portrait photography. A couple weeks back I purchased this cheap $50 studio kit from Amazon. If you have a limited budget it’s a good starting point when exploring studio photography. Using one light with the umbrella, I played with it in front of me, either angled to the right or the left to cast shadows and highlight my lady-like features.
I am no model, but was pretty happy with how the pictures turned out on my first try. It is definitely tricking trying to pose, frame, and set up lighting myself.
Please let me know what you think and how I could improve! Love to hear your thoughts!
