So I’m usually the nerd who always has their camera on hand, but this morning I was rushed out of my house and forgot my companion. For Mother’s Day this year, my parents came down to Boston for the Arnold Arboretum Lilac Festival. If you love plants and nature, I definitely recommend that you check it out! Other than being a quick, peaceful getaway from the city, this Arboretum has a huge collection of plants. Any botanists in the house? All the trees and plants are marked and they have everything from azaleas, coniferous plants, bonsai, hemlock, lilacs, and rhododendron dell… the list just goes on and on!
If you’re a macro photographer, this is would be a hub for you! I love macro photography (though this is not), but I don’t have a marco lens… yet. Using my phone, the One Plus X, which has a 13MP f/2.2 camera, I shot this collection at the Arnold Arboretum. I generally hate shooting with my phone because of lack of control, so today’s test impressed me! My camera allowed me to focus about 2-3 inches from the subject, giving me enough detail and decent bokeh with a 2.2 aperture.
Everything was shot and edited on my One Plus X. ( I used the Adobe lightroom app for editing). Would you have guessed I did all this work just on my cell phone!?
If you’re a Sony photographer, which macro lens would you recommend? What other gear do you us for macro photography?
(Couldn’t resist throwing in a selfie xD)
